FAQ's
What exactly is hard water?
Hard water is water that's naturally high in minerals like calcium and magnesium. It may also contain traces of chlorine and heavy metals like lead and copper. While these elements aren’t necessarily harmful to drink, they can have a significant impact on your skin and hair health.
How does hard water affect my skin?
Minerals and chemicals in hard water can strip your skin of its natural moisture barrier. This leads to dryness, irritation, and increased sensitivity. Over time, your skin may become more reactive, with conditions like flakiness and redness becoming more common.
Can hard water and chlorine cause breakouts?
Yes—especially if you have acne-prone or sensitive skin. When chlorine and minerals interact with your skin’s natural oils, they can form a waxy residue that clogs pores. This buildup can lead to inflammation, breakouts, and even changes in your skin’s texture.
Are heavy metals in tap water bad for skin?
They can be. Metals like copper and lead may contribute to dryness, irritation, and even long-term inflammation. These elements can also disrupt your skin’s natural detox function, making it harder for your body to flush out toxins through the skin.
Does chlorine make skin conditions like eczema worse?
Unfortunately, yes. Chlorine can worsen eczema and other sensitive skin conditions by further weakening the skin’s protective barrier, making it more prone to flare-ups and irritation.
How can I tell if my water contains chlorine or heavy metals?
Signs include dry, tight-feeling skin and brittle hair after showering. You might also notice a bleach-like smell from your tap water. To be sure, you can check your local water quality report or use a home testing kit.
How do I know if I have hard water?
If your skin feels persistently dry, your hair looks dull, or you’ve spotted white buildup on faucets and showerheads, chances are your water is hard. Still unsure? You can confirm by checking your regional water report for mineral levels.

Will it soften my water?

Will it work with electric water heaters?
Yes, our filtration range is compatible with electric water heaters. We recommend checking your heater’s flow rate to ensure everything runs smoothly, but in general, installation is quick and hassle-free.
